In year 6 the children had recently finished their workbook and so the teacher was teaching an end of unit assessment. They were due to start their new workbook after half term. The children were engaged in practical games following their learning of hobbies and sports in Spanish. The children followed instructions that Shannon gave in Spanish.

In all the lessons children were engaged, they enjoyed the practical activities and enjoyed the follow up activities.

Catharine Townley has worked at St Margaret’s for several years, delivering Spanish lessons for children in Years 2 – 6, one day a week. Her lessons are engaging for children in each lesson. During her time at St Margaret’s, she has built good relationships with all the children she taught and also with staff, becoming part of our school community. Catharine has led and driven standards forward in Spanish, inspiring children when they leave St Margaret’s to take up Spanish at high school. She constantly assesses the children’s learning, clearly delivering lessons so all children can progress and develop under her teaching. As well as teaching Spanish, she also ran after school and lunch clubs, where children who had a passion for Spanish could attend these if they wanted. I would recommend Lingotot to support the teaching of MFL in your school as Catharine will bring energy, enthusiasm and passion to inspire learners.
