Who we are
Lingotot is the UK’s leading provider of children’s language classes, teaching over 20,000 children every week through play-based, interactive learning. Founded in 2010 by former Head of Languages, Angela Sterling, Lingotot was created to make learning languages fun, engaging, and accessible for all children. Our award-winning programs are delivered in schools, nurseries, and community settings by fully qualified teachers, ensuring the highest standards of education.
What we do
Lingotot provides a wide range of language-learning opportunities in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Welsh and Irish. Our structured curriculum aligns with the national curriculum, incorporating phonics, storytelling, songs, and games to ensure children develop language skills naturally. We are also the only provider in the UK offering NCFE-accredited qualifications for children in modern foreign languages.

Angela Sterling
Head of All Things LingototAngela founded Lingotot after working as Head of Languages in schools across the UK and internationally, where three of her pupils ranked in the top 10 worldwide for their GCSEs. She launched Lingotot when her eldest daughter was just 7 weeks old and franchised the business in 2011 after her second daughter arrived.
Angela’s passion for languages, strong vision, and resilience have earned her multiple accolades. She won the BFA Contribution to Franchising award in 2022, was a finalist for Franchisor of the Year, and led Lingotot to win the Elite Franchise Top 100 every year from 2020 to 2024. In 2017, she became Regional Chair for EWIF (Encouraging Women into Franchising) and was named EWIF Inspirational Woman of the Year in 2023.
Today, Angela focuses on driving Lingotot’s growth, shaping business strategy, and supporting franchisees. She continues to inspire through her leadership, guiding the network towards long-term success while still enjoying time in the classroom.
Angela Blake
Head of Happy OperationsAngela joined Lingotot in January 2024, bringing a wealth of experience in leadership, management, and business development. She began her career in retail, working her way up from the shop floor to regional manager, before pivoting to the veterinary sector. There, she spent 13 years supporting vets and vet nurses in a Joint Venture Partnership model—similar to franchising—perfecting her operational and business development skills.
Angela thrives on helping others succeed, whether it’s guiding big business moves or celebrating small wins. When she’s not keeping everything running smoothly at Lingotot, you’ll find her spending time with her husband, daughter, and Jack Russell, Rosie, enjoying family getaways to Bamburgh, or indulging in her new hobby— renovating dollhouses.
Erin Newstead
Master of Getting Stuff DoneErin joined Lingotot in 2024 as our Administrative and Marketing Assistant, becoming the glue that keeps everything running smoothly. From managing day-to-day admin and handling communications to creating engaging content and supporting marketing campaigns, Erin brings energy and precision to every task. With a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach, she’s always one step ahead, making sure both the admin and marketing sides of Lingotot stay on point.
